The free app of the smoke-free phone is made for people who want to change their smoking behavior, become smoke-free or stay smoke-free.
The focus of this app is on individual support in the preparation, implementation and / or maintenance of smoke-free. Comprehensive tools based on behavior therapy, e.g. the "smoke log", the "motif scale", the "motivational flash", the "checklist" and much more are offered. With personalized push notifications that inform and motivate, the app accompanies you through the time of change.
In theory and content, the app is based on proven psychological models of behavior change. On the other hand, the years of practical consulting experience of the Rauchfrei Telefon - Team has significantly shaped the design. Recommendations from experts and current practical guidelines were also taken into account in the preparation.
The content-related and structural linkage of the app with the advice offered by the Rauchfrei phone (www.rauchfrei.at) also offers free individual support.
This app supports and accompanies the individual process of becoming smoke-free. It can supplement, not replace, personal advice on stopping smoking and treating tobacco addiction.
Creation and financing
The application was created in 2014 in cooperation with the Rauchfrei Telefon - Team under the direction of Sophie Meingassner (concept and content), Helmut Chlebececk (concept, programming, www.pixler.at) and studio.mishugge.com (graphic).
The funding was provided by the umbrella organization of the Austrian social insurance and the smoke-free telephone. The revision in 2019 was funded by the umbrella organization of the Austrian Social Insurance, the Federal Chancellery - Federal Minister for Women, Families and Youth and the smoke-free telephone.

The smokefree telephone is an initiative of the social security system, the federal states and the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection. A team of clinical and health psychologists who specialize in smoking cessation are available from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. free of charge on 0800 810 013. They provide advice and information on smoking cessation. Comprehensive information is available at www.rauchfrei.at. On request, information material can be sent by post free of charge.
